HELENE

Boxer Insane
We have dogs all around us in the neighbours yards, when Sergeant plays with them through the fences he has a habit of pushing his face quickly against the mesh fence, of course, that makes the other dogs think that he going for them and they snap back. Is that something Boxers do? I can't remember our other Boxer, Brenin, doing that. He even does it when children are at the fence. Without the fence he doesn't do it!

Hi, Helene! Harley doesn't push his face at the fence but runs back and forth from one end to the other whenever our neighbour's dogs are out. We did have a boxer, though, when I was a kid, that pushed his face into the fence whenever any other dog approached. He also stood by the screen door whenever anyone came to the door. If they bent down to look at him through the screen, he'd jump forward and push his face into theirs knocking them backwards. We had to put a sign by the door asking people not to put their face near the screen. Joe was not aggresive in any manner but just very protective. I think, when dog's do this, they're just being protective of their owner's property. Either that or they don't see too well and think there's nothing between them and the neighbour's dog. Have a great day! :)

Sergeant also runs along the fence, if the other dog does. He also runs around the yard, sometimes I think he will run into the hazelnut trees we have at the bottom of the garden, there is a rut in the grass where he runs.

LOLOL Brenda :) I bet Joe loved this game! Our first Boxer Bo used to do similar in our car when we filled up with fuel. In those days most of the service stations actually had full service. We had a Suburu Brumby with a canope. The windows in the back were fully screened. Bo would crouch down and wait until the attendent had put the nozzle in the car, then leap and the screen and go 'woof'. He would then press his face against the screen and stare at them. He was not at all agressive either but had a highly develped sense of humour :D We had to try to remember to warn people about him before he lept into action.
