Hey everyone! I'm excited to say that I picked out my puppy 2 days ago. Mack is five weeks old, born on Halloween and I get to bring him home December 29th.
Out of a liter of 7 puppies, four were show dogs and were not for sale and 3 were able to go to outside homes. Mack was the only fawn and I really liked those colors the most, but personality was most important.
When I arrived the breeder was telling me about Mack, saying he was a very good puppy, plays a lot but not as full-blown crazy/hyper as some of the others.
She picked him up and I held him (NOT the alpha roll back deal don't worry) and his two little front paws were on my arm as my other hand supported his behind. He just sat there, totally calm looking around.
I put him on the ground and he played with his brothers and every once in a while I'd pet him and eventually all the other puppies left the room after their mom but he came and sat by my feet (which is where the pic is from) so I picked him up again and he licked my nose. My first words were 'Mack we gotta work on your breath'
Anyway, thank you all for your helpful information, I'm very excited and you'll be hearing a lot from me in the future, both in just sharing information and in asking questions I'm sure!
Here is a link to the picture of mack at my feet, I hope it works!
