Boxer Insane
I brought Penny into the vet today for her yearly exam, titers, etc. The vet always does a heartworm/lyme/and other tick-borne illnes test as well. An hour later I got the call that she has tested positive for Lyme. She had not been vaccinated against lyme in the past and I asked for the vaccine today because our new house is surrounded by woods and we were constantly picking off ticks last year.
The gave her a months supply of the doxycyline and she has to go back in a month for a second dose and a re-check. Now I have to get Mason tested too - I hope he doesn't have it! The worst part is she did not have any symptoms so it could have gone undetected had they not tested...they think that they caught it early enough - I sure hope so!
