i usually wear a sport coat to the dog shows, but i am going to a show this weekend and there is a good chance of rain?

    Would they postpone the show?

is it okay to wear a waterproof jacket instead of a sport coat?

    thanks

If you're in the US it doesn't matter what you wear as long as you're not the judge. And even judges get a pass in brutal weather.

Outdoor shows are almost never cancelled for weather, and when they are, it's usually more because of the parking situation than the shownig situation, meaning that people's trucks will get stuck in the muddy field and need towing if they don't get out of there.

Pouring rain can result in some very amusing sights, with all the hairy dog owners carrying them around with outfits on to keep them dry, and handlers of all sorts breaking out rubber coats and pants and mismatching jackets.

Sometimes judges from out of the area who don't have foul weather gear will end up wearing a mix of clothing from club members.
