Oregon again

Hi from Oregon. I've been reading a lot of information on this site and it has helped a great deal. I just got my first Boxer 2 weeks ago. Female, flashy brindle w/black mask, natural ears, docked tail and slobbery kisses. Her names is Cassie (another Cassie). We were very lucky to find her. The breeder that we got her from had to cut down on the amount of dogs she had and because Cassie has cardiomyopathy, she cannot breed her so she was the first to go. She takes a small pill every day that helps her heart beat as it should. I'm looking forward to talking with all of you!

Oops, guess I did forget to say how old she is. She was born 5-18-97. She was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at 6 mos so has been taking meds for quite some time. We're taking her to a dog park for the first time today. The breeder is also selling a 3-yr old male as he has a bit of a droopy eye and so does the female she breeds. Not good for showing I guess. His name is Maverick and he's very adorable of course. He's a redish fawn..I don't remember if he has white or not, I'm thinking he does. She told me she would sell him for $300 if you know anyone who's interested. They come from a very nice home where they are well cared for. One of her dogs just had a litter and she's keeping a male & female from that.

The dog park went really well. I kept her on the leash until I knew she'd do ok. She tends to be on the quiet side until another starts to play. A male pit bull took a liking to her <smile> and when she tried to take a frisbee from another dog, he let her know that it wasn't going to happen and she backed off. Needless to say, she sleeps well after playing there. We'd love to get together Linda, just let us know when.
