Tyson is still battling his demodex, and we have begun to work on the diet and supplement aspect as the medication aspect will not be enough! My question is, there are a few spots where Tyson is still bald and the skin is super thick like a scar. A woman at a hollistic dog food store suggested that we rub olive oil all over him after we brush with a short bristle brush! We have done this twice now and while it seems to do no harm I wonder if it helps!?! Has anyone heard of this?

On a side note it is rather entertaining to watch Ali lick her brother all over after wards  but what is even funnier is the way Tyson prances around like he is the sexiest thing to walk the face of the earth for ten minutes afterwards

I know olive oil works good for spit ends and dry hands. When Grace had the rough blackish spots left from demodex, I used vitamin E.

Viamtin E oil 28,000 IU can be purchased at your local grocery store pharmacy dept. It is very thick and a little goes a long way. We used this on Cami when she was going through Demodex. It worked great. We always put it on her scratches that she gets while running outside like a wild woman! So far she doesn't have any scars. We even put it on her incision after her spay and that area looks great also.

I would highly recommend it.
