ointment for bloody cut on head?

Champ has had a scab on his head for a while now and it won't heal because he keeps scratching it all the time and making it open up and bleed again.

Any idea about what I can put on there to make it stop itching him and heal at the same time?

I strongly suggest EMT gel. It is awesome stuff! You can buy it at Tractor Supply stores if you have those there (I imagine you do) it is about $13 for a small tube but it lasts awhile (as long as a dog doesn't chew it up, Brady opens drawers and gets stuff out) and is well worth the cost.

You could try Neosporin.

I just took Champ to the vet because he wouldn't stop scratching. They said it was a hot spot and gave me a spray to stop the ithcing and heal the cut. Works for me.

Rocco had a infected wet excema patch the size of a 50 pence piece on his neck. He wouldn't leave it alone and the vet gave him hibiscrub you can actually get it from the chemist very very cheap. It works wonders. It has never come back, but I will always keep a supply in.
