I am sitting here at work with the radio tuned to a local station. They are playing Christmas music and it's not even Thanksgiving!! They could at least wait til after Thanksgiving!

SO true....even shopping centers are playing Christmas music while you shop. It's just not right, so hard to wrap my brain around that X-mas is comming and I am not even close to being ready. Even worse...Thanksgiving is in one week and I'm not even ready 
Maybe b'c it's still 80 degrees here in Florida :eek: How can you Christmas shop while wearing a tanktop and shorts????

I KNOW!!!! How do you get ready for Thanksgiving when you feel like it will be Christmas?? What happened to Thanksgiving? Too bad Christmas has turned into such a commercial holiday, I guess they feel the earlier they play music, the more people will think about presents they need to buy and the more money they will make. Too bad. I always said I'd like to take my kids to a big city for Thanksgiving or Christmas and have our whole family work in a homeless shelter or serve food for the homeless for a day. I think that would bring home the true meaning of Christmass and why we should be thankful for everything we have. One of these days I guess..............

I'm considering skipping Christmas this year. It has gotten to the point where all the joy has been sucked right out of it. Brings me nothing but stress and headaches. (and an empty bank account)
To Kayboxer: I think you have an excellent point about serving in a shelter over the holidays. I think that is a great idea.

I think it's disturbing that stores put out Christmas items the day after Halloween like Thanksgiving doesn't even exist anymore. I have bought Christmas presents for 2 of my cousins and that's only because the proceeds went to charity! I'm waiting until after Thanksgiving to listen to music, decorate, etc. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday and people should remember that!

I've already seen houses with their outside Christmas lights on! While I told DH that maybe this week-end we would put our lights on the fence there is no way I'm going to plug them in until after Thanksgiving! Plus I watched the Grinch on TV last week-end.

Oh yea, we have the people with Christmas lights on already too. I couldn't believe it when I heard Christmas music playing in the stores a few weeks ago. I am patiently waiting for Thanksgiving, Christmas is too hectic. For Christmas, we go to Stephen's parents house where about 50 people (all family) gather to bicker. They are a huge loving family but when you have 8 siblings, their spouse and their kids, there is going to be bickering!
I get almost a week off school for Thanksgiving break and Thanksgiving day is probably my favorite holiday. Then we have black friday the next day (I love it for the thrill of the hunt!) and then the following day this year is my birthday.

Christmas comes too early in England...I work in retail, and even before I had packed my suitcases for my summer holiday in September, we were getting Christmas stock in, and being bombarded with gift ideas on the tele ...Too depressing!!!, I was packing my bikini, and hanging up holly at the same time!!...I think we should boot Christmas into the first week of December here, and ban, (or tax 
), anyone mentioning the festivities before then!...Oh, as a quick after thought...today, 15th of November, we got our first consignment of Easter Bunnies in!

There's a radio station up here that started playing 24 hrs of Christmas music November 1st! :rolleyes: I love Christmas, but I think Thanksgiving should be given its fair share!
