New family member...

I currently own an 10 1/2 year old female who is quite dominant at times, yet quite friendly at others. My family and I are looking to get a puppy next spring yet I am confused as to whether I should go for a male or female. I can see my girl having a jealous streak and I am wondering whether she would get along better with a male than another female? Anyone have any advice or experiences that relate? Thanks!

If you do a search here you will find that many prefer M/F combo. Lots of people have 2 males or 2 females and they do quite well although 2 females can bring issues (depending on the females). My preference is M/F, Good luck in your search

Thanks for your help, I'm 99% sure I'm going to look into getting a male, I just hope he won't try to dominate her, which would probably get her quite upset. We certainly don't want her to feel like she's being pushed away by a new puppy-my fam and I have more discussing to do on the subject!
