Boxer Spike
Boxer Buddy
Yesterday I was outside and my neighbor approached me about the dog we have been fostering until Friday. She says she wished that she knew that we were getting another dog. I explained she is only a foster until Friday. Apparently my neighbors aunt passed away, leaving behind a 6 month old white female boxer pup. I am of course terribly sad for pup, but say, "Oh please don't tell me that! There is no way my husband will let us have another dog. Especially with Spike only about 9 months old." she continued telling me about the sweet pup and how cute she is. Of course I am drawn in so I inquired about whether she could hear. They said yes, then continued with the following: She was in a completely white litter. (warning bells here, white boxer breeding perhaps) then even worse, they tell me that one pup from her litter was born with only one eye, ear, and no front legs! I feel heartbroken for this baby losing her owner, but there is no way I could deal with the heartbreak that might come to me & my family knowing what little medical history I know of her. For now puppy is with her niece, hopefully they decide to keep her permanently. It just sounds like a sad situation. Thoughts?
