Boxer Pal
This is my first post but I've been browsing the forums occassionally for some time. I've never had to do this before so help me out if i get something wrong.
We recently moved to S.C. with our boxer, Penny (11 mo. old fawn) and Sadie (3 y.o. half boxer, half chow from a humane society). Our neighbor quickly discovered we had a boxer and I found out he has a white female. He's kind of a recluse so we don't talk much. But this morning he approached me and asked if we knew anyone who would take his boxer. She's only a little over 1 y.o. but he bred her (ugh!) and he didn't really take very good care of her during this time. He got rid of all of the puppies, though, and now he says he has to get rid of her b/c she won't stay in the yard (another "ugh!"... don't know why he lets her roam free). She's very very thin now from the nursing and needs a lot of care. I doubt she's house-broken so that means even more care and attention from a good owner.
Here's the thing, though... I don't know him very well and I get the impression that he would be upset if I suggested he give her over to a rescue group. So it would be great if there were a good owner to adopt her. But if a rescue group is the only option, then that's much much better than her remaining with him.
How can I find a suitable foster home or someone to adopt her or a rescue group in S. Carolina?
All help and suggestions are appreciated!
