Our vet has done an EKG on Megan for her heart murmur. Now he wants to call in a specialist to do an ultra sound.

What I want to know is does the EKG tell them what grade the heart murmur is? If he is calling in a specialist I'm assuming they are concerned. The reason for the specialist is she has in the last month or so starting coughing and they think it may be part of the heart murmur.

I'm really concerned and have mixed feelings on this. If anyone out there has gone through EKG and Ultrasounds and specialist for heart murmur would you let me know how it works. The vet is closed until Monday and now that I'm dwelling on this I don't know if I can wait that long.

Thanks for the help.

Malinda, try not to worry too much until you know that you have something to worry about. I know I'm asking the impossible.

Hugs to Megan!

Take care,

Just want to add my support, and say try to not worry yourself sick over this. The specialist should be able to tell you what's going on with Megan, and it's always better to keep an open mind until you've talked to him.
