My first foster!!!

I'm in love already. Picked up my first foster pup two days ago. She was injured and the family could'nt afford the medical bills. She's got a blue cast on her leg and needs to be kept calm with no pressure on her foot in the hopes of it healing to prevent surgery. She's a real sweetheart and it breaks my heart to hear her whining in the kennel, but I have to remember it's all to save her leg.

FYI..all this would be a little easier without a 7 month and 5 month old boxer also running around the house wanting to know why their new baby sister can't come out and play..

Why do I have the feeling that she won't be a foster for long?

I have the same feeling,especially when I read"baby sister"to the
other 2 pups
Hope she's soon on the mend

I didn't even realize I had used the words "new baby sister." Your right I don't want to give her back already but if I don't I will not be able to foster another pup that may be down on their luck. I guess we will see. She is due for her first follow up this week. Hopefully she makes some improvement!!

Giving up the first one is always the hardest, but you can do it!

Its hard to give up a foster sounds like you are falling in love I adopted my second one I am a failure I have no more room to adopt the next one

guess I'm just gonna wait and see if I can give her up. Chances are looking slim. She can't do steps right now so she's so spoiled already that I am carrying a 60# dog up the stairs at night and then down in the morning so that she can sleep with me. I have at least three more weeks to decide. Plus I know that some of the dogs that were given as x mas presents are going to be returned because they are too much work they are going to need a nice warm place to hang out. If I keep my foster room will be very limited..

I would love to foster for the greater good, but I fear I would be a failure. It takes a special kind of person to be able to do it the way it needs to be done. Maybe it would be easier if you knew for sure that they would all go to the perfect forever home once they left you, but I don't know if anyone can say that...I don't know exactly how that all works. Good luck in making your decision .
