Oscar has a new favorite game. JUMPING to catch the flying puppy (Beany Baby)! I swear he has springs in his feet. He'll give me the "look" and I'll say "Get your puppy!" He'll immediately run and grab his Beany baby puppy, bring it to me, drop it, and then tear off coming to a screeching halt, turn and sit. Mommy asks "ready?" and Oscar poises with front feet and head down, butt wigglin high in the air. Mommy throws the little puppy HIGH into the air. Oscar literally catapults his body straight up and catches the little Beany. I can't believe how high and how good he's getting at this! Oscar loves this although he likes this game with daddy better cuz Mom throws like a girl.

That's funny. I've been trying to get Maggie to jump. She doesn't seem to want to do it. In our park, her white boxer friend, Yourma (as in Your my dog - another one of those funny names) jumps like a jack rabbit after sticks his master "teases" him with. He loves the game. Both of us and Yourma have tried to get Maggie to do it too, but she just won't.

Oh well. Maybe Yourma and Oscar should get together to play. Or, maybe it is a boy thing. Boxers. Who knows!! :)

Yourma! That's too funny!!!! Guess that's better than naming the pooch Ima. Ima Dog.

I don't remember how this started with Oscar. I think I just started to lightly toss the beany to him and eventually he got it. We do this while watching TV and he's in for a round of the Boxer Rodeo (aka crazies). Seems to give something to do. I think starting with something soft is better just in case (I told ya I throw like a girl).

Krikkit--I would get that on video but darn if I don't have a tough enough time manipulating a 35 mm camera! Doesn't matter how many lights I have on including a flash, still comes out too dark. :( I'm video impaired. Whaaaaaa!!!

How is the beany baby surviving???

I got a "fleece man" for my kids once. It lasted about 30 minutes. Completely disemboweled.

Believe it or not, the Beany is holding up exceptionally well. He's been shaking the you-know-what out of it, etc, and it doesn't haven't a rip in it. I'm impressed. It's outlasted all his other stuffed toys (who barely make it past a day or two). :)

They are so funny, aren't they??? I'm surprised the beanie baby lasted this long - we gave one to JEB, not thinking about all those little bean-thingies inside, and he tore into it eventually (and got beans all over the place :)!!) For the longest time, we thought he couldn't catch - he had trouble with a ball - but we found that once we tried tossing a stuffed animal high into the air (I guess it moved a little slower than the ball??) he LOVED to play catch!!! And he would jump into the air to catch, even if he really didn't need to. Too cute.

I LOVE IT! Lexi is the same way..she can jump so high that unfortunantly she jumps baby gates, and our 6 foot fence  I too have the problem though of finding a toy to outlast her games. Most stuffed toys last no longer than 30 minutes in our house and the insides and squeaker have been removed..*sigh* We try the toys for the aggressive chewer but she isn't into them..she likes them soft and squishy :D

Kim, you gotta get that on video!

Kim, that is hysterical, you will have to get that on tape, and ask olly to figure out how to make is so we can all view it :) You know like a windows media clip.
