But I just picked up 2 raw bones from the supermarket today and do I just give them as is ? Someone told me to cook it for 15 minutes and I thought that was not right ?!

Just give it to them with all the fat etc. and that's it ?

And........can my little pup have one too ? He's only 10 weeks. If not, how long should I wait ?

TIA !!! :)

Don't cook it ;) Bones are only safe to feed if they're raw.

If it really has a massive amount of fat on it, you could trim a bit of that off. But generally speaking, there's no need. What can be more useful if you have marrow bones (the sorts of weight-bearing bones that have soft centres) is to scoop out a bit of the marrow before giving it to the dogs. Marrow is fantastically nutritious stuff and dogs love it - but it's also fantastically high in fat, and that can cause loose stools and upset tummies if they consume too much. With that proviso, there's no reason at all why your 10 week old can't be munching on the end of a bone - in fact, it will help him a LOT with teething in the weeks to come.

Ok..........I let them have the 2 bones for maybe 10 minutes or so and then took them away because I wasn't sure (posted this after), but now today Duke has had 3 HUGE and I mean HUGE piles of runny poo !!!!!!

He's been acting fine, but wow am I surprised that 10 minutes would do that to him !!

Any ideas on why ?
