Ok so I am not happy right now and I need to vent.

DH set up a maid for me for Christmas to come in and help clean as we are moving apartments this week, knowing that I have been sick and working constantly. He didn't want me to have to stress about getting everything done. I was absolutely grateful...

They came day before yesterday, and cleaned. Everything was fine and dandy, perfect timing since we are moving this weeked. On their way out the door they spilled BLEACH out of an open bottle onto the carpet, right in the middle of the entryway!!!! Hello giant white patch on tan carpet.

Now, the apartment manager was going to apply our security deposit from the apartment we are in to our new apartment so we wouldn't have to pay anything extra (we are staying in the same complex). DH called them to tell them what happened, and that the cleaning company the maids are with will come out next week and attempt to dye the carpet back. Manager said ok fine, but if it doesn't look right we are going to replace the carpet and it will come out of your deposit. Which is fair enough on their end, I understand that. I am SO MAD at the cleaning company, and you can bet that if it comes to that we will demand they compensate us for whatever we lose out of the security deposit. But really, who goes around over carpet with an open bottle of bleach?? Even my DH is not that silly, and he doesn't always think things through all the way ;)

What was supposed to be a stress reliever for me has turned into more of a hassle than I had before! :( Not fair.....

Thanks for listening to my rant. :)

Was the cleaning company insured? If so, their insurance should cover any damages that they caused. Our cleaning lady accidently sprayed a cleaner with bleach in it on our wood coffee table. The cleaner immediately ate through the finish, and left white spots all over the dark wood. She had to submit a claim to her insurance, and we were reimbursed for the full cost of the table.

You should certainly demand that they repair or replace the carpet.

I am sure they are, DH is an insurance adjuster and would never hire anyone who was NOT insured, industry paranoia what it is.

And they will compensate us, no doubt about that. One way or the other. Its just a hassle and a headache I don't really want to deal with. And at the same time that I am frustrated I understand accidents happen, and I really hope they will deal with this peaceably and without fuss... I don't really want to have to fight over who pays for this in the end. You know? I hope they are an honorable business... I guess that is what I am getting at.

BTW, I absolutely LOVE your avatar picture, he is gorgeous!
