Leaving my boys behind

Lately, I have been reading alot about BW Members leaving thier babies and my turn has come :( We leave the house at about 5:00 A.M on Saturday and return Tuesday evening. We have left them twice before, but a relative has stayed over at our house. This time, my sister will be dog sitting at her house. I took them over for a little bit last weekend so hopefully they remember the place.

I already have a checklist with strict instructions ready for my sister. The only good thing, she has and 19 month old and a 7 year old. They should keep them pretty occupied for a while!! Hopefully they will cooperate when my sister arrives to pick them up. We will already be gone and they have never left the house with anyone but us.

It is so hard to leave! My eyes always seem to swell up when I have to leave my girl. But dont worry... Everything will be fine. They will be so happy to see you when you get back. So have fun and be safe

I wish them luck! I'm sure they will do great. I would much rather have them at a realtives home than in a kennel, not to say kennels are bad. I just mean they have more comfort at a house than kennel and can be let out and played with a lot more. I used to leave Roxy at a kennel but I stopped because EVERY time we did she got a urinary tract infection. She needs to go potty more frequently than most dogs. She just can't hold it very long, never has been able to. We now hire friends or relatives to come dogsit or they stay at my mothers. Thank goodness all of our neighbors are huge dog lovers. We all take turn taking care of each others babies!

Can you have your sister come over a day or 2 before to take the boys for a ride with lots of treats? That way when she somes when your not there your boys will think its another fun ride filled with treats!!!

I like to get some practice when introducing Fin to new situations before the formal introduction. His second and third attempts at things are always far and away better than the first.

This sounds like a really good idea! I'm sure they'd appreciate all the treats and the ride! Good luck, and have fun! I always get upset when i leave our boys... even to go to grandma's house without them! :(
