Hello everyone,

Well I have been working with Krypto for months now on his aggression issue and it has gotten better. ALOT BETTER! However we have decided after consultations with behavior specialists and the veternarian that part of his problem is he does not like small children. He fears them. I have four small children and do daycare out of my home. He bit one of my kids. Just a surface wound (scratch) but he still did. He needs a home with two grown adults that can focus on him and work with him on a regular basis. He has been raised around kids, so we are not sure why he is this way.

The other option I have is to send him to a boxer shelter which with aggression usually ends up in putting him down or to put him down myself which I cannot. He is EXTREMELY BRIGHT, he is only 5 months old and knows a lot of tricks, and commands. He is white with brindle markings. He is neutered. When the kids are not around he is very affectionate and loving and loves to play. When the kids are around he becomes very nervous and anxious and growly.

I am in Winterset, Iowa so if anyone can help let me know. I will miss my little guy, but have to do this for my kids sake.

Get in touch with your local boxer rescue group. They will not put him down for his issues! They will find him a loving home that is best suited for his needs.

I think I have found a solution....wish me luck. My sister has no children, can't have any children and has the time to spend working with him. He will have another puppy (a mastif) to play with also. She is willing to take him, and do follow up behavior training to hopefully help him. On a really good note....I will get to still be a part of his life and watch my little boy grow up. Sigh of relief in a sense.

Thank you all.

I hope everything works out! It sounds like a win/win situation.

To Mini - it is a huge liability for a rescue to take in a dog that has bitten, so I don't know that it's fair to say that a rescue would not put down a biter. Even if it was a minor wound, it was still a bite - he has proven that he is willing to use his teeth under certain circumstances. When I first got started in rescue years ago, a rescue in Maryland had just been sued after placing a dog that bit someone. If a rescue goes down over one dog, think of the hundreds of other dogs that can no longer receive help.

Krypto has been with my sister for two days now....DOING GREAT! I think he suffered from anxiety or something. Because being in the calm of her house he has had no growly episodes and is very happy. I think I made a good choice. Him and her mastif love each other as well.

Good luck Krypto!
