Jed 3.1.97 - 17.12.04

I can't believe I'm writing this but our boy Jed is gone. I had to help him to the bridge at 3:30 this morning.

I woke to him having a seizure at 2:30am, he had 3 in a row with in half an hour, so I rang the vet and arranged to meet her to give him some IV Valium. The valium didn't work, he kept fitting once at the vets and I couldn't stand the suffering and had to let him go.

I wasn't expecting this to happen, I was hoping we were going to get control once we added to the potassium bromide to his phenobarb 3 weeks ago :(

Jed was my husbands dog. I bought him almost 8 years ago as a surprise for Bryce. He fell in love with Boxers after he met me and Mollie. He said he'd like a brindle boy, so one day I went and got just that! It was one of the happiest days of my life to see the joy I brought to him!!

Jed was a beautiful boy, great natured and a great companion to us. He has stuck to my side for the last 9 months of my preg (I'm due the 23rd) It was so hard waking up this morning and him not being in bed with me :(

Jed's now at peace, I miss him more than words can say. We loved that boy!

And can you believe today is Hannah's 3rd Birthday :( I'm so sad for her, she's lost her best friend. I hope she copes ok.

I'm so sorry to hear about Jed, especially at this time of the year... What a handsome boy. From the look of your photos, it seems he had a wonderful life on this earth, playing with his friends and his sister Hannah. Now he's in a place where the seizures won't bother him and he can play with his fur friends as much as he wants.

I'm sure Jed will continue to be with you during the remainder of your pregnancy--in spirit.
