When we got Puckers 6 months ago, she was 2 & 1/2, and never been crated, and we got her a dog pillow to sleep on, that she uses 90% of the time. When we got Max we crated him right off the bat since we didnt know how house trained he was. When we let Max out of his crate in the morning, Puckers runs in and sleeps most of the morning. Does this mean Puckers wants her own crate? We tried to put a tall table with a sheet over it and her pillow under it to mimic a crate but she pulled out the pillow and slept in the middle of the floor. Puckers is kind of a "snot" because she will take Max's toys and lays on them & wont let Max play with them.

It sounds like she gets jealous!
She dose not want him to have any fun! How much older is she than him?

Hiding the toys and not letting him play with them is definitely her showing him that she wants to be alpha. We had the same problem with the crates. We bought the oldest a crate and now they both have a crate!

If your dogs are anything like mine they only want what the other one has. I started out buying two of everything. Now I just buy one of certain things because they just fight (play fight) over it anyway. So to answer your question I would not spend the money on a new crate, because Puckers will probably ignore her crate and still go in Max's. Just my 2 cents.

Puckers probably just wants to sleep in the crate because she thinks of it as being Max's. If you got another crate, chances are, she wouldn't want anything to do with it.

I have one really big crate and the girls love to share it. Toys on the otherhand - NOT! Gabbie still is not sharing her basket of toys very well. She will not let Cassie dig through the basket so I have to spread them throughout the living room. It doesn't matter what Cassie picks, Gabbie wants it

. I have to supervise the ENTIRE time. Cassie finds a toy and runs into the crate to play with it or behind furniture so Gabbie can't see her.

I am happy to say that Gabbie is getting MUCH BETTER at sharing. I think that it is just going to take some time.

I just love Pucker's name! Good Luck!
