Is there a reason?

Lola's mum

Boxer Insane
My boys have to lay on me or near me regardless whether there's another sofa to lay on that's free.
Take earlier, I'm laying on one sofa when Zeb gets up and curls behind my legs, Casper then gets up and literally lays on top of me  Then another time it's the other way around even though there's a free sofa. This happens all of the time, they just have to be touching me all of the time. Even when I'm on the computer one of them is drapped across my legs while I'm trying to type.

Is there any behavioural reasons why they feel the need to smother me, are they 'claiming' me? Lola doesn't do this at all, just the boys (they are much more loving than Lola who will move if you go sit near her.

Boxers are just giant lap dogs! Mine have always wanted to be close to us - touching whenever possible...whether it's on a couch or at the sink doing dishes. When I am at the sink I usually have 2 boxers either leaning against my legs or laying at my feet - I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China!

We bought a king-size bed hoping it would help with being crowded by 2 boxers while sleeping. We have found that it wouldn't matter if our bed was the size of 2 kings! Rocco curls up tight against my back and Dino rests his head on my ankles. Same thing with the couch. Rocco is always lying in my lap and Dino is right up against me. Or they're both in my lap - one on top of the other so I can't even see the TV. While I'm washing dishes, Rocco is always lying right behind me. But I have to agree, it's wonderful. I wouldn't trade boxer affection for anything!!

Yup.. that about sums it up...Number one reason to love your Boxer......you'll never be lonely or cold again if they have anything to say about it! It's so bad at my house Hogger even starts sighing at me if I am 10 minutes late for bedtime!

I had to laugh at this, because Waldo does the same thing.
We get the "look"if we're still up and he wants to go to bed:LOL:

Payton does the exact same thing... I think it's a "boy thing". My female shihtzu isn't like that at all!

Boxer Buddy
It's the natural guard dog in the boxer. They are simply protecting their master...or we're protecting them? Either way, I love it!

Tula sits in front of the shower while I'm in it. Very much like a security guard on watch. lol

They just want to be sure you are not alone. or don't have someone NOT laying on you, snuggling you, being around you, helping you view boxer world. LOL Yes the DW has some four legged fur kid around her all the time....

Felix is much more touchy than Delilah. She is content at the foot of the bed or on the floor next to the couch- and she likes being on the couch too at the other end.

Felix on the other hand always keeps contact with one of us. Whether its curling up behind my knees on the couch or laying across my legs. He likes to sleep between my legs at the foot of the bed too! He will sit with his back leaning against my legs while i'm in the kitchen too-
I thought it had something to do with him being deaf and wanting to know when we got up- but I see its a guy thing! lol.

when we let our boy in the bed he actually lies on top of me and then slides off slowly so he stays pressed against me. I think that is his way of getting as close to me as possible!!! Big mushy lug!
