Is he more Boxer or American Bulldog?

I put a couple of new pictures of Pete out in My Gallery. Do you think he has some American Bulldog in him? Someone at the Dayton / GOBR Bash said he had the Boxer body and Am Bulldog head.

Any opinions?

Actually, it really does not matter. Pam and I love him - regardless!

I really don't know :confused: He looks all Boxer to me, BTW a beautiful boy, he could be a poorly bred Boxer which would make the muzzle a little longer then standard. He could have American Bulldog in him also. Either way he is so cute, a very handsome boy, and I am sure you enjoy him and he brings you and your family a lot of love.

Throw Back

Pam thinks he is just - a throw back to the way Boxers used to look.

I do believe if he had more fawn or black and less flash on his muzzle, his head would look smaller.

He looks all boxer to me Yes, his muzzle is a little longer than the ideal (but that's hardly uncommon) and he hasn't got a lot of 'turn up' to his nose or well developed flews, but he's not so atypical that I'd be wondering if he's a mix. I think you're right - the extensive white markings completely obscuring the black mask on his face is what throws people off.

Loving him regardless is what it is all about. Hi snout does look a little long but his body says boxer.

BTW, when and where was the bash? I didn't know anything about it and would have loved to have been there.

Pete is a beautiful boy! (and looks like he is as stong as an Ox ) I don't think his head looks like an Amer. Bulldog at all. (I've seen quite a few AB's at the Bark Park I go to) I agree - the white on his face probably throws people off. He looks all Boxer to me How old is he? His head could still have some "growing" to do if he's fairly young. Ronin is about 19 months and his head is beginning to "fill out" and get broader than it was before.

Pete's age

Pete is a Rescue Boy so we are a little unsure of his age. Vet thinks he is about 3.

He (Vet) too, thinks Pete is Boxer.

We have asked Pete, but he is not talking. Not about that, at least.

He is very handsome. Actually he looks very like Finnegan my white boy who has a similar head and also gets mistaken for an American Bulldog all the time, the longer nose is just from bad breeding - still looks like a boxer to me
