Introduction

Hi, I am not new to this forum but have not logged on in a long time.when i first started chatting I had a fawn boxer ,his name was Buster.He passed on when he was 7 yrs old from Cardiomyopathy.I then adopted a rescue boxer from White Plaines N.Y.At that time I was living in upstate N.Y. My new little boys name is Butchy.He was about 2yrs. old when we adopted him.He is brindle his previous owner had his ears cropped.his previous owner left him alone alot so he was quite hyper and had seperation anxiety(big time)My husband and I had to sell our house and re-locate to Texas.We were torented at the thought of trying to find a new home for Butch.I thought it would be too traumatic for him.We did find an apartment that accepted dogs.His behaviors got wose though ,he became very destructive when ever we left him alone.I found a Vet who specialized in animal behaviors.He put him on an anti-depressant/ anti-anxiety medication.What a difference it has made!he is a happier dog and does not become so fearful when we leave him.This little guy I feel must have been traumati zed when he was a puppy.Any way thats our story.Is there anyone out there who has a dog on an antidepressant? from,Butchys Mom

Welcome Back! Don't know much about anti-depressants, but I'm sure you'll find someone who does.
