Infected Paws? Please help

Layla has been licking/gnawing at her paws lately. She doesnt yelp in pain but is constantly doing it. Afterwards, they are really dark pink/red. Is there something I should be concerned about?

I called the vet and they said it could be allergies. Just thought Id come here and ask some pros

No, she has been eating the same food for 2 years now and has never had any problems. No change in diet and no change in activites.

Are there any other symptoms? Such as, discharge from the eyes, sneezing, itching anywhere else or knawing anywhere else? I agree, sounds like allergies. What are you feeding her?

Ozzy does the same thing and it is an allergy.
Trying to find out what to is the awkward bit!
Ozzy's tends to be for a period in the summer when something on the grass agrivates it.
Benydryl or piriton usually help which is a human antihistimine but dosage depends on weight so best check with the vet,the vet also gave me some medicated shampoo to bathe his paws in which does aliviate the itching somewhat.

My dogs did the same thing, they are allergic to corn. Sometimes dogs can develope allergies to their food if they eat the same food over a long period of time.
