Boxer Booster
I took Harley to the dog park yesterday for a couple hours. About half an hour before I left, another boxer showed up. It was getting late so it was just Harley, the other boxer, and a husky left.
Another man showed up with a dog, I dont know what kind. The other boxer (a girl named Norton) ran up to greet the newcomer, and rolled him. She was just playing, dogs end up on their backs ALL the time at the dog park. It's not aggression, it's just how they play.
Well as soon as Norton had welcomed the dog by rolling him, she was headed back toward Harley (running AWAY from the new dog), the dog's owner ran up to Norton and kicked her in the ribs!!!
Norton did not bite, growl at, or bark at his dog, and she was running away when he kicked her. His dog was in NO danger.
Norton's daddy and I both immediately ran up to the man and told him that was absolutely NOT acceptable, and if he couldn't handle his dog PLAYING, then he needed to leave. Then I called Harley, and put his leash on him. I said loud enough for the mean man to hear "Harley, we're going home, because if you play with that dog, I dont want YOU getting kicked."
Norton and his daddy left too, and so did the Husky, Max and his mommy, because they'd been watching, too. So the man's poor dog who did nothing wrong had nobody else to play with because his dad was stupid.
