I was given i/d canned and kibble form prescription diet for Gauge after his stomach tack surgery, Yuckie food but I am scared to try something else right now. Any ideas what would be the best home cooked foods to start out with after this i/d stuff is gone. I used to do raw feeding with lady but now I am scared to give this one any bones.

I would feed boiled chicken and oatmeal, which is very easy on the tummy.

Dogs are much less inclined to bloat when on a raw diet.

I agree with the raw but am afraid.

I agree with you on the raw diet. I fed Lady that diet when she had cushings I like to believe she lived longer due to raw and didn't get the big cushings belly. This guys is only 10 months old and it is very odd that he had to have a stomach tack surgery at this age. But he is a big 60lb very V chested dog.
The vet went through all the intestines and stomach to check for foreign objects and health issues but found nothing that would cause the pains he was getting in the morning. I am still scared to get up with him in the am because I am afraid it will happen again even through it cann't any more. (my anxiety to deal with) So I guess until I get over my anxiety I will try home cooking starting with chicken and oatmeal like you sugguested.
