How much food should my puppy eat

Whether it's enough or not depends entirely on what you're feeding him. Each food has it's own feeding guidelines, which aren't valid for any other food - because the nutritional and calorific content varies so much. Heck, one food might have just 300 metabolizable kcals per cup, whilst some others may be over 500. It's pretty clear you'd have to feed a great deal more of the former than the latter

Hi! My Brinks is just about 17 weeks and weighs about 27 lbs....all lean, no fat. He eats Iams Smart Puppy, and the vet said he should eat about 2 1/2 cups a day, and the bag says 3 1/2 cups a day!! We just went from 3 feedings a day to two, per out vets' recommendation. So, now I give him about 1 1/2 cps in the morning, and 1 1/2 cups in the evening and he devours it and looks like he could eat more. I'm also giving him healthy treats during the day. Its hard to tell how much, isn't it! emgrove

You might want to look into a better food. Iams is pretty much junk
