Hi everyone,

my neighbour has agreed to look after Wilson for me tonight so I can work an extra shift at my job. She will be walking him 3 times at the most (short 5 or 10 min walks), and playing with him a little bit inside the home each time. She'll also be feeding him twice. How much should I pay her for the night?? I have no clue about these things!!

Thanks,

hmmm not sure

I'm not sure as i'm a first time boxer owner, but i assume it'd be much like babysitting...maybe 10-20$ ? I'd probably give between 15 and 20. I don't know if i'm being too generous though, it's not like she's staying over there the whole time.

Sorry i guess i wasn't very helpful....

Isn't watching your adorable boxer payment enough????? I would also say 10-20 because it's only for one night and she doesn't have to stay there the whole time.

10-20 USD or CD? I payed our sitter $15 an hour, but this is what the lady does for a living. I wouldn't work for much less than that, so why should she!

I have a wonderful boxer sitter who stays over night at my house when we go out of town. When we used her for the first time I asked her how much she charged and she said $20.00 a night. I just about hit the floor. I told her "but I have TWO boxers and Tugg needs medication, that's not enough". So I paid her $30.00 a night and it's worth every penny. If you find a good sitter you want to hold on to them especially one you can trust with you babies and your house.

I agree with everyone else that 15-20 would be good. I agree with you mymay when you find a good sitter hold on to them. Rockys doggie daycare owner is wonderful. We needed an overnight sitter since we planned an overnight trip and she offered to take him for the night. She loves him....even has his picture on her computer. Well we paid the 25 dollar day fee for the daycare and when I asked how much she wanted to charge for the overnight she said she wouldnt hear of it...she didnt want to charge us a penny!!!!!! Daddy ended up tipping her 50 bucks on top of the 25 we had already paid...plus we had bought her a very nice candle from our overnight trip. My point is when you find a person like this you need to make sure you treat them right because I am pretty sure next time we need to leave our furbaby she will be happy to watch him. We have peace of mind knowing that our furbaby is in great hands and that is priceless to us. God he is spoiled.

I have been watching a clients dog on and off for nearly a year. Whenever they go out of town, vacations, long weekends etc....

They live just about 10 minutes away by car. I go 3 times per day, 20 minute walks each time and about 10 minutes of playtime in the backyard also. I feed, water and give meds. He is a rescue that I told them about after they lost their last dog. Lucky was hit by a car and ended up at the front door of the salon that I work at. In the end they ended up spending $1000's for his care and treatment. I feel that it is sort of my duty to give them a break on what I would normally charge because of what they have done for him and I really enjoy the time I get to spend with him.

They pay me $20.00 a day. I would charge someone else more than this as it is pretty time consuming and when you average it out it doesn't amount to much....pays for gas and a few extra dollars. But in the end, you do something good you deserve others to be good to you! And what they did for him was REALLY GOOD!!!

Just my 2 cents.

Omg that would actually be awesome Leah! I am sure Wilson would never want to leave lol. Tonight was a last minute thing but I would actually love to be able to work some more Friday nights in the future, if you wouldn't mind every now and then :) Of course I would be willing to do the same for you :p Anytime you need to go out on a weekday evening let me know, if I can I would gladly do it for you - it'd be a blast!

Well anyways, I think total time she spent walking, feeding and playing with Wilson was around 1 hr and a half. She fed him once and he pooped all 3 times she took him out (soft stool too....poor her lol). She lives in the second floor of our apartment building, and I'm on the third so she didn't have to spend gas money or anything. So... I'm thinking $25?? It'd be nice to be able to rely on her in the future. We've become quite friendly and always chat when we see eachother, she's a nice lady.

Thanks for all the responses!
