How do we boost pups immune systems?

Our 5 mos old pups, littermates, Duke and Rudy have both been diagnosed with Demodex Mites. As both have it the vet says it's genetic and they have weakened immune systems. I have been reading 1000's of posts here regarding the problem and many have references to naturally boosting their immune systems. We feed them Canidae and they each get a raw egg in their morning meal - but what else should I be doing for them? P.S. I have notified the breeder via email and have been waiting for her response....

Hi Diane - our girl had an immature immune system as a pup (she would pick up everything going - vaginitis,warts, pyoderma, etc.). We made sure she had the best food (TO, California Natural, Merrick, Solid Gold, etc.). We also use supplements from The Wholistic pet (see their website), Nupro and Missing Link. We also add pureed steamed vegetables to wet food (she cannot tell that she's eating carrots, cauliflower - you name it!) and a little bit of cottage cheese. Sardines packed in water are also good on occasion. I hope this helps - nutrition is so important with these dogs given their high rate of cancer and heart problems. Good luck and keep us posted. Thank you Joanne. I really appreciate it. I will check out tht website right now. We have already lost one boxer to cancer (Rocky - age 8). I want to give my 2 guys everything that will help them as we love them more than anything.

I also forgot to mention to be patient with the mites. My sister's pitbulls had them as pups for the longest time. They will go away with the right medication, bathing and feeding them good meals.
