Hello everyone....... I just got a boxer puppy from Boxer Rescue. Joey is 4 months old, a brindle male, just neutered. He is a joy, very curious and relatively mellow. His housemates include a 2 year old male neutered cat and a 4 month old African Grey Parrot. He is house trained and crate trained.

I don't know much about boxers, Joey is my first. My previous dog was a mastiff who lived to be 12. I would like to know more about boxers and also about obedience training. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to Boxerworld. There is a host of information here about boxers. I'm sure you will find the people here most knowledgeable, fun and always willing to help out. Congratulations on your new boxer. You're gonna be so in love with this dog, I guarantee.

Try the Obedience forum for questions about obedience. I'm sure there is someone who can help you or or point you in the right direction.

I personally recommend "The Culture Clash" a book by Jean Donaldson for training. It has worked quite well for me and my 6 mo. old boxer girl. If you can pick up a copy, you won't regret it. I highly recommend it.

Keep us informed as to your boxer stories and of course any questions you have.

Welcome to the board! Joey sounds like a lovely puppy. House trained and crate trained and you didn't have to do any of the work and he is still a puppy. I think I am jealous. LOL Don't be surprised if he has a little bit a relapse in his house training. It often happens when a puppy moves to a new home. Feel free to ask all the questions you want. Please, just make sure you post them on the right forum.
