So we got a beginning agility kit in today.

Ava has never done agility so how should I introduce her to the new equipment. She was excited about the tunnel inside even went through it perfect but she tried to pounce it outside.

Should I continue to work with her or should I wait for her to mature a little more?
She loves to run so I know she would be great at agility.

She will soon be 15 months later this month. She was born on Christmas 2009.

Agility can be a lot of fun, and rewarding in ways you don't expect.

Regarding the age, I have heard you really don't want to do too much until they are about 18 months because their bones are still growing. Saying that, I know some offer low impact agility classes for puppies.

Agility has much more to it than what may be apparent. Consider you and Ava will be a team where she is doing the various tasks at your direction while off leash. Realize much, perhaps most, of the training is for the handler to give clear guidance.

What is in a beginner agility kit? You might want to get in an intro agility class and use the equipment to practice on at home.

Good luck!
