I have a 15 month old male boxer named Rocky. I got him at 7 months - a "sort of" rescue. He's my first and he's wonderful! He doesn't jump up, he doesn't drool, he doesn't act terribly hyper(at least not for a boxer). He does lick - everything, everybody. When denied contact he just madly licks the air, like he was lapping up the air. He's very sweet and eager to please, and only slightly pig-headedly stubborn! I would love to find somebody in my area(say .. Ruskin to Venice) with boxers that he could occassionally play with. Other dogs(mostly their owners) seem off put by the standup style of boxer play. They think he's being aggressive. I'm new to the list and love it. What a great resource!

Welcome!
I can relate to other dog owners being put off. More than once I've gotten the evil eye from other owners at the dog park when Bailey tries to box their beloved pooch. :p

I'm sure you'll find some other boxers to play with. This is a great place to start!

Boomer is an excessive licker too. I guess it's just part of their personality. I live in Pensacola, which is practically in Alabama, so I'm sure that I live quite a ways from you. It's too bad, I would love for our dogs to get together!
