Just came back from vacay and what a surprise on this board. My lkittle girl had a swollen face this past week and I had to rush her to the vet for an allergy shot. I did not give her Benedryl, because my last Boxer was allergic to it and they are from the same breeder. Has anyone had a problem with allergies this past summer.? She did not have any bites or strange food.

No swelling this year; Ruby has had bee stings in the past but Benadryl has taken care of that. She spent some time at the breeder's a few weeks back and she had hives all over; we were told that the flies usually affect the puppies (I guess they bite or sting) and that's what gave Ruby hives. It was odd and they went away after a few hours. Today again, (it is very warm here in San Diego) the flies were all over and she had hives again. I don't understand the hives or what the flies are doing to cause them..??
