Well cassius is at it again!!! We have been leaving Cassius out of his crate at night for the past month with no issues, until this morning! I was feeding my month old son when I could hear rucus, only to find Cash with a sofa cushion, blanket and pillow on the floor! I admit I was seething! I gave him a "Cassius uh uh" (although it took all i had) and then replaced everything and ignored him.

He chewed through the bottom of the couch during the day home alone (back in the crate when we are gone), but this is the first time caught in the act!

My question is this an appropriate way to discipline him? Or should we start crating him at night again?

If he cannot be trusted outside of the crate when you are gone or at night, crate him. We are seeing how Buster will do by leaving him out when I run errands no more than an hour at a time. We will gradually work our way up. I know he is not ready for more than that yet. Night time is a different story, because he sleeps in the same room as us in a crate. I have been leaving the crate open sometimes to see how he does, and so far so good. Just take it slow. :)
