Boxer Insane
I laughed so badly this Saturday at what Tina was doing, now I want to share this story with you all.
We gave Tina a big fresh bone (cow's leg) to chew and play with. We don't give her bones often as they are not very good for her teeth as well as her stomach, it's a really happy day for her when she gets one. This time anyway she felt excited but seemed not to feel like eating the bone right away. So she started wrapping the bone into her rug with help of her forehead, teeth and paws. I guess she did it to hide the bone so that no one could take it :D Every time the bone was all wrapped Tina stopped and had a look at the result with a very sceptic expression on her face, then she must have decided the job wasn't all right so she unwrapped the bone and repeated the process :D :D At last it was done perfectly (to Tina's taste ) and she left the bone and the rug keeping her eye on it anyway. As we tried to approach it (just for fun, we didn't intend to take the bone) Tina rushed back to the kitchen and started her process all over again.
She was busy with it all day long, the first thing she did after walks was rushing into the kitchen to check if everything was all right with her precious bone. She has never hidden any food before. Now we have a joke - no, our dog is not greedy, she is just thrifty :D
Do your babies hide any food to keep it for "black days"?
