Can someone give me the name of a good training book? I am thinking I would like to do some training with Megan at home and looking to see if anyone has any suggestions on what a good book might be. We have been doing clicker training with her so I would like to stick to that, if possible but not necessary. Thanks

You might try "Don't shoot the Dog" by Karen Pryor. I haven't read it myself but she has a good reputation.

Go to www.dogwise.com They have the absolute best selection of dog books and have lots on clicker training.

Good luck,

Morgan Spectors "Clicker Training for Competitive Obedience" is very good. I think it is at Dogwise as well. "So Your Dog's Not Lassie" is great and you can use the clicker with the exercises in that book too :)

I went to Barnes and Nobles and checked out a couple of books plus I bought some off from the site dogwise. I think for the next 6 to 8 weeks I will try training Megan at home and than make a decision on whether to do another obedience class before we start agility.

We work with her on the daily basis and she picks up really fast, so I am hopeful that I can do some training myself without paying for classes. Keeping my fingers crossed. If all else fails and maybe even if it doesn't I'll bring her back to obedience classes. I can't take her to the next level until after the holidays anyways so until than I'm going by the books.

Thanks for the help.
