Boxer Booster
Hi everyone. As most of you know, I'm new to the whole being owned by a Boxer. I've seen a lot of posts about "Flashy Fawn" boxers. What does that mean?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! So I guess that my Sarge is "Flashy" because he has white on his face, chest, legs (foot), and belly. I enjoyed reading that article. I can't seem to read enough about these very special pups!

LOL - your guy is one of those whose appearance does not clearly reveal his genetic makeup. If I had to guess, I'd guess that he's actually classic rather than flashy. Reason being the distribution of his white markings (i.e. if it weren't for the bit of flash on one side of his face, he'd be the epitome of classic).
Most genetically flashy dogs have white on the face, extensive white on the chest and belly, perhaps a white collar round the neck, and white feet extending some distance up the legs. Classic dogs are characterised by coloured feet (perhaps just white toes or feet, but not extending up the legs), some white on the belly, limited white on the chest and little or none on the face. Your guy has a little more on the face than one would expect from a classic dog - but the body and feet markings are exactly what you'd expect with classic (it's actually rare these days for there to be no white at all).
This sort of marking pattern is often termed "semi-flashy" - for the exact reason that it isn't clear which set of genes he's got. Obviously, from a genetic standpoint there's no such thing as "semi" anything - you've got a gene or you haven't. But from a pragmatic point of view, "semi-flashy" is certainly a valid description.
