Completely Boxer Crazy
Grumpy normally eats homecooked or raw food... she is going to be boarded for 4 days next week and I'm planning on sending her with Evangers canned food to eat while she's there. (She loves it and gets it for snacks sometimes, or when I am short on time and don't have anything defrosted for her ) Grumpy has a VERY sensitive tummy and can't tolerate most commercial foods, or premade raw foods, Evangers 100% meat cans are really the only things she can eat (besides fresh stuff from my grocery!) that don't make her sick.

My question is, with only 100% Rabbit meat, for 4 whole days, should I try to find a vitamin supplement or a calcium supplement for her to take? The nutritional info for the Evangers is:

Ingredients: Rabbit, water sufficient for processing
Protein min 10%
Fat min 5%
Fiber max 1.5%
Moisture 78%
Calcium min .25%
Phosphorous min .20%

It's only for a few days, so I'm not going to worry if her nutrition is less than perfect. But also I don't want her to be sick or develop some kind of vitamin deficiency.
If anyone knows whether this nutritional profile will be adequate for a few days, let me know... I'm not a big fan of supplements but obviously if this is super low in calcium or whatever, I'll make sure to find her something to mix with it.
Thanks...

You're unlikely to end with a vitamin/mineral deficiency there ;) That's better than 99% of kibbles you're ever going to find. From a quality of ingredients perspective, you're never going to find a commercial food that equals what you'd feed raw or homecooked. But this stuff comes a LOT closer than any kibble ever will. Bear in mind also that you're not comparing apples with apples if you compare the macronutrient breakdown of normally hydrated foods directly with dehydrated foods - because water makes up a good 80% of hydrated foods. To make comparisons, you need to convert to dry matter basis. And when you do that, your Evangers comes out something like this:

Protein min 45.5%
Fat min 22.7%
Fiber max 7%
Calcium min 1.15%
Phosphorous min .91%

It is perhaps a little low in calcium - but well within acceptable range, and more importantly, the calcium : phosphorus ratio is perfectly acceptable at 1.3:1. In short, I'd have no qualms at all about feeding this for 4 days, and no thoughts about needing to add supplements for that short period either.
