As Lola is petrified of fireworks I have got her some holistic Amethyst essence. I have to put 4 drops in the drinking water daily and on the back of her neck too when she's really stressed.
I really hope it makes a difference as Bonfire night is fast approaching. We still play the noise CD I bought and she's fine with that now.

I hope it works for her. Ali is petrified of thunder and maybe that might work for her too. Pls. let us know how she makes out. Good luck.

Please let us know how it goes. We have some products here that are pheromone-based (DAP, they call it, which I think stands for 'dog appeasing pheromone') that has been successful for some dogs with fireworks or thunderstorm phobias.

Well some went off tonight (fireworks) Lola was just about to go out for a pee when they did and walked back inside. She did however come back into the conservatory which she won't normally as the fireworks are still quite loud in there and she can see them through the roof. I out a couple of drops of the essence on the back of her neck as directed but no more have gone off.
I was thinking of getting a DAP diffuser for her but as they have to go at dog level know Casper would chew the unit :(
I have a feliway diffuser for one of our kittens as she was peeing through stress (quite nervy kitten) and that's worked a treat.

Ok update.
Last night and tonight some frieworks went off while we were out on a wlak and Lola did nothing, nothing at all :) She carried on walking, didn't even look at me. I think this essence is doing it's job - naturally and I'm thrilled to bits. Monday will be the test though (Bonfire night, lots of fireworks)
