Does it really matter what I feed my Dog?

This is kind of a trick question. I know it definetely matters. My dog has seasonal allergies. She is doing great at this time of the year. I feed her Verus fish and potato with 3 V liquid added. She really seems to like it but I have seen that I should rotate foods. Would it matter to the seasonal allergies if I had her on say, Canidae. Most people say not to try to fix what isn't broke. I would think with a dog with allergies, you should stick to the same diet. Many people rotate but many also stay with the same diet. You certainly aren't hurting by feeding the same food.

Prolonged exposure to the same food can also lead to the development of an allergy to that food. With an allergy-prone dog you may want to switch between two tried-and-true foods (ones with different protein sources) every 8-10 months.

I have a Boston Terrier who is allergic to most everything and switch her between Canidae and Solid Gold Holistic.

I also do a lot of home-cooking for the pups - I still think dogs do better with a varied diet. You just need to keep the scope of variety fairly narrow for the allergic furkids.
