We also have 2 in the bed with us. Gunny is 2 and Tessie is 7 weeks, never an accident (yet). I tried to crate Tessie but the crying and yelping got to me too! So in the bed she came, my husband said, " Ah, nothing like waking up with 2 boxers in your bed!" lol lol Gotta love 'em.

Jade's Mom

Super Boxer
Jade was always in our bed. She was very regular on her potty times, so I just set my alarm to go off at certain time of night and take her out. She never had an accident in bed, soon enough she would take her self out and I wouldn't have to get up. She has a bed to sleep in if she wants, and she does sometimes, but usually she sleeps right between me and daddy.

Daisy is 4 months and sleeps in our room in her crate. We stay up later than her. It's cute to see her open an eye to look at us as we walk in and out of the room. She cries early in the morning to let us know she needs to go out and dh feeds her. She then knows to get back in her crate/bed untill Mommy wakes up. I usually wake up to her staring at me. It's really cute. I'm a really light sleeper so I don't know if she'll ever be in my bed but should I ever have to go on tour alone and can take her with me than I might consider it. I love that baby :)

yes, we let dixie sleep in the bed with us. i also could not stand hearing her cry at night, plus, no one was getting any sleep. she is great, no accidents so far on the bed, a few gifts by the door every once in a while when we get up though. now she is starting to scratch on the bedroom door when she needs to go out. i guess she is with us for life in bed. i don't mind though, when my hubby goes to work, she takes his place on the pillow. so, this way, we all win!!!

I am definately in the minority on this site!

LOL - yes, definitely. :) My husband and I feel there's almost no point having a dog if it doesn't sleep in bed with you. ;)

Some people advise strongly against letting dogs in bed/on the furniture with you, because it will make them think they're "dominant" over you. Hogwash, IMO, but I do think it's important that the dogs are taught to get off of the furniture when asked, and really probably to only get on it when invited. This allows you to share space with the dog (if that's what you want, of course), but still sets boundaries for polite behavior.

Do our dogs sleep with us?

Anytime they want! :)
At first it was every night. But, gradually they started sleeping together, on the couch, in the livingroom.
They will come in on the bed when they want to, though.

Harry was crated until 7 months, BF always said he didn't want the dog on our bed. The night he came home from being neutered, BF relented and he's been with us ever since!! He'll come up on to the bed for a cuddle, but most of the time sleeps in his basket at the foot of our bed. Best of both worlds, we get cuddles but also space to sleep.

Nope, Ginger does not sleep in our bed. She's not allowed to go down the hall where the bedrooms are. DH doesn't want dog hair in the bedrooms and there are too many toys to chew in the kids rooms. She's also not allowed on the furniture. She doesn't care, as long as she's inside around 'her people' she's happy as can be. She loves it when I lay in the floor with her.
Ginger is only crated at night & loves it. She goes right to sleep & is quite all night.

Bama Belle

Boxer Buddy
Belle is now 9 months old and even though she starts out on our bedroom loveseat, which has become her bed, she ends up in bed with us sometime during the night. Sometimes I know when she jumps up on our bed and sometimes I don't. My DH and I are in our mid 50's and if you had asked me a year ago about a dog being in our bed, I would have laughed at you. When we got Belle at 10 weeks old, we found out from her papers that she was born on the very day our youngest son was killed -- Nov. 11, 2004. Fate? I don't think so. We spoil her way too much and if she loves us enough to want to snuggle with us during the night --- then we're the lucky ones. We wouldn't have it any other way. I must admit that we will be purchasing a king-size bed soon. She's now about 54 lbs. and the queen-size bed is just too small for the three of us. lol
Belle has never had an accident in our bed but, when she was younger, I would take her outside at least once a night. She would let us know when it was time to head toward the door.

Puck

Boxer Pal
I never intended to let Puck sleep with us but he cried so much on the night that we brought him home that we finally relented. He's slept with us every night since and, at this point, I wouldn't have it any other way. He hasn't had a single accident and has always woken us up with tons of kisses whenever he needs to go out.
