Do you let your boxer sleep in bed with you?

Bindi is crate trained, but has never slept in her crate. She has always slept in our bed with us. I'm a pretty light sleeper, so I always heard her rustling around and was able to get up to take her potty. Most nights, she will start in our bed, move to our daughter's bed in the middle of the night, and then get back in our bed when my husband gets up in the morning, before I get up.

When Bailey was a baby I crated her until around 2 when she woke up to go potty. After that she would cry so I always ended up pulling her up in bed with me. I got more sleep that way and thats the way it stayed. She owns the bed now.

My Calla

Calla sleeps with me every night--or should I say that she allows me to sleep with her! She has never had an accident until about 3 weeks ago and I think it was because we were in another house and another bed. She hasn't done it again since. I will have to say, the bigger she gets, the less sleep I get. I wake up several times during the night to get her off of me (or my pillow) or to scoot her over.

When Mya was little she would go to sleep in her crate and have potty breaks. She slept in there until she was about 10 months old and now she sleeps on the floor in our room. She has a big pillow bed in there and is fine on the floor. She only comes up in bed if DH or I have gotten up and there is only one human in the bed. She also knows that weekends when we like to sleep in a little that she is allowed up.

Completely Boxer Crazy
We I go to bed I usually have Justin(my 3yo) and Tug, then before long there is usually Willie(a cat) and then Ollie(the golden)..DH always complains that even with a king size bed there is never any room or privacy in our room!!

Oscar sleeps cuddled up with us every night. He hates it when the alarm clock goes off. I am waiting for the day he reaches out with his paw and hits the snooze button by himself :)

The alarm goes off, I get up, Lucy and Patch are still in bed, out of the shower, let them out, she does her business and is back in bed before I am even ready for work

Sabu started sleeping in our bed when he was about 12 weeks old, so far it is great and there have been no accidents. He always slept in his crate until then. He is a good boy so we figured why not. I have already gotten used to waking up with a paw in my back or the side of my face. Would not give it up for anything though.

Sleep-sharing

Guinness was crated at night until he was potty-trained (and crated a couple of hours at a time during the days until about 11 months old).
When he was really little I got up about every two hours at night to take him outside, then he went back into the crate. The magic of this is they grow so fast, the "every two hours" became "once halfway through the night" within a matter of weeks and the entire process was done by about 4 1/2 months.
The books I read did say to have his nighttime crate in the bedroom, though, never in an isolated room. Guinness did cry a tiny bit once or twice when put in his crate but for only a minute or so, and only a few times. He adapted to it really well and until we put the crate away at 11 months, he would often go into it to nap as a matter of preference (doors left open).
By the time he was pretty well potty trained he started sleeping in the bed. NOW I seem to not sleep very well if he isn't there (if he moves to the floor or couch). Hmmmm. But that doesn't happen very often. Most of the time he has about 99.9% of the bed and I'm perched on the edge of a precipice... but happy.

Love*Leila

Boxer Buddy
No. My husband and I do not allow any of our pets in bed. Our cat sleeps in his bed and our boxer sleeps in her crate right now. When she is out of her crate and sleepy she sleeps on her dog bed :).

We don't want Leila on our furniture or in bed with us. It (in our opinon) blurs the line between pet and owner. Also, I have allergies so having pet hair all over my pillows, sheets, and comforter would make me miserable.

I am definately in the minority on this site!
