do boxers have a sixth sense of other boxers

we live on an airforce base. and there are alot of boxers here well when other dogs walk bythe house he doesnt really bark or notice them. But if a boxer is walks by the house he is running around whining barker causing the biggest roukus . Do they just have that sense that is thier own kind walking by

I seen my wee girl do something very similar one day which startled me. When she is in the car she hangs her head out the window and sniffs at the air etc. Whenever we pass a dog or cat she just tries to prop her ears up and gives them a good hard stare. However we passed a male boxer that was sitting (very proudly!) in front of his gate one day..she started to tiptoe around the backseat and began whining quite loudly. She looked at us as though she wanted let out but there was definitely no aggression. I believe she recognised something in him that she saw in herself. He was very good-looking so maybe she liked the look of him but she definitely showed more interest in him then any other breed of dog before
