I know this topic has been discussed before, but haven't seen an answer to my question.
Is it possible to have antlers too long to give to the dogs for a chewie?
Mike has antlers that are pretty old. Over 10 years old. Never treated with anything, other than dust LOL.
Would these be ok to give the dogs? Mike said I could if it was ok being they are so old. Not sure if that really matters or not.
    Thanks guys.

It *should* be okay but not sure it's something I would risk myself. The ones I have purchased have never had expiration dates though.

It is so tempting to just get them off the shelf (don't ask LOL) and have Mike cut them up. I really want to, but am afraid to also.

Honestly it's probably worth the $8 to just go buy fresh ones so you know there's nothing wrong with them.

I got some smallish deer antlers off a guy on craigslist when Gus was a baby. They were at LEAST 10 years old and I was afraid they would shatter, but they don't. They grind down just the same as the fresh elk antlers I got him recently, and sometimes he even prefers the ancient deer antlers!
