My Vicki has this dry crust on the tip of one ear. Got it last year and our homeopathic vet had us use Aloe Vera plant - it helped but is back this winter. Seems to only happen in the cold and rainy weather. Just curious if anybody else has ever had this type of problem. Rest of year she is fine.

Sorry don't really have any advice...sounds like it could be some sort of dermatitis....maybe trying some salmon oil added daily to food may lubricate your baby's skin....Barbara lovicon

we have this problem with our Charlie...we live in Canada and our winters can be quite harsh, and yes it only happens then. I don't know if the tips of the ears are to thin and sensitive to cold (you mentioned it happened then too) Charlies have gotten so bad they have bled....try putting a band-aid on that!!! What we do now is before we take him for a walk or just to go out and play I put a bit of Vaseline on the tips of his ear to protect it and that seems to work.
