I've been working with tank on the crate training. he does very well. i have to put him in but once he is in he is quiet and just sits there. He cries occasionally but he quiets down if i say quiet or stick my fingers through the cage. my only problem is getting him to eat. i have been only feeding him in his crate and only leaving the food for about 20-30 min then taking it up.its been 2 days. the only food i know he eats is breakfast. i have to put him in our small bathroom and he does good all day.Sorry so long but I'm really worried about his weight. I can clearly see his ribs and his abdomen isn't round like it should be. Thanks tyler

Hi. So he eats his food in the crate in the morning but will not eat it later on? When is he crated and when is he in the bathroom and for how long?

i found a way to get him to eat. i mix about 1/8 cup of milk with his food. he's eating like no tomorrow.

Laila goes into her crate good without any fuss...the only time she has to go in is if we are at work or need to leave to go somewhere that we can't take her...otherwise she goes everywhere with us and only needs to be in crate during work about two days weekly...but Laila will never eat in her crate...the few times we have left her food in there we come home to find it all covered and buried in her blankets..so now we feed her before we go and then as soon as we get home....good luck...Barbara

Just watch for diarrhea-milk can be tough on the tummy-sometimes yogurt is a good "teaser" for fussy pups :)

I was feeding Rolen Canidae before I switched him to TW Bison. He got tired of the Canidae and picked at his meals. I ended up adding a teaspoon of yogurt per meal and he would lap it up! He got to the point with the Canidae that he would only eat it with the yogurt on it. Once I switched, I haven't had a problem with him finishing both meals. He loves the Bison! :) I think sometimes they just get tired of the food they are eating. I guess I would too if I was eating the same thing twice a day for a long time! I'm getting ready to switch again for a different meat source. Good Luck!

Our Apollo is 12wks old, he is eating Eagle Pack-Holistic Select. He loves it,my only problem getting him to eat is he gets distracted and wants to play with me instead, but we are working on it. Anyway, my question is, should I switch up his food now while he's young to get him used to a few different types so he won't get bored with the same food? Or is he too young and it may upset his stomach. My thought is, if we give him a few different brands, maybe he won't get stomach upset, because he will be used to the changes right from the start and we will always be able to mix up a few types at once to give him variety. Like some have said, I'd be bored with the same food day in and day out too! Any thoughts??
