We spent the weekend on the family farm near the texas-arkansas border, took the kids and Ping. It was Ping's first time at the farm and he LOVED it!! He loves just about anything but he had a ball! LOL. He likes to go outside and play but all in all he is an indoors dog... but he stayed outside at the farm the whole weekend, he didnt want to come in, he was having too much fun. He loved hanging out with the horses, ponies, cows and bulls.. they didnt pay much attention to him but he tried!! He kept trying to get the horses to chase him, LOL. Then he met the Emu!! [the kids called it a super chicken] Ping and the "super chicken" chased each other everywhere. It was so funny. He got in the durango sunday afternoon tired and filthy he fell right to sleep and slept all the way home and he's still asleep, he's only woke up to go outside and drink water LOL . He's still a city boy but for the weekend my baby was a country boy. :D

Nikki, isn't it glorious!!! We go visit the farm where my parents live some on the weekends and what you just described is Coco (cept for the Emu..lol) She absolutely loves it. Doesn't want to come in the house except to get a drink and sleep at night. She tries to aggravate the cows and they don't pay much attention to her. She did get the bull after her once and now she avoids that lot...LOLOL She wants to sniff the horses but doesn't want them anywhere near her. She runs & runs...plays and jumps. Chases the wildlife and all in all just wears herself out. She always comes home dirty and tired. We must have a bath first, then eat and sleep for about two days to recover. Not only do I bring home tired furbaby but my skinkids as well. It's a wonderful way to see them have fun and bring them home tired.

LOL yeah and that "super chicken" tried his hardest to catch Ping but Ping was too fast! Going out there makes me want to buy some land, Ping was so free and the kids loved it too. Tonight Ping is getting a bath.. we got home last night and the kids needed showers so bad! then they wanted a snack and i finally piled them into bed so I could actually wake them up for school..Once they were asleep, I went in the living room to get Ping for his bath and he was PASSED OUT! I woke him up a little and asked if he wanted a bath.. he looked at me like it was the worst thing he's ever heard! LOL.. he was so tired, I had mercy on him and let him rest. But he is sooo dirty he's gettin one tonight! his daddy called me a little bit ago and said it looks like Ping hasn't moved all day, he's in the same spot he was in when we left this morning - still snoring!! LOL :D

LOVE IT! It's so great when you can give your furkids an opportunity to spend time in the great outdoors just horsin' around. When I go visit my parents (they live on a lake and there's tons of wooded acreage) Beasley has sooooooo much fun chasing squirrels, scaring geese, and dipping his tippie toes in the water (he won't even get in to his chest). He's always exhausted after a weekend at mom and dad's and I love to hear him snore all the way home in the car! sleepicon

I'm so glad Ping had a good time! Love the 'super chicken' thing, too!
