could it be the Elderly?

Let me tell you what happened yesterday.
We went over by the in-laws for turkey day. Now, Rommel has been there regularly, and loves to go.
Well, this time, he bounded up the stairs and to his surprise, my father in law's mother, who is 87 was sitting in the living room with her walker.
This threw Rommel for a loop and he started barking at her and would not stop! Rommel has NEVER barked before (really!) except at the cats and in a playful way. This was a normal bark that would not quit.
Finally, he got used to her, but it took about 1 1/2 hours to do so.
Then, after that, he treated her like she was one of our cats. He wanted to play with her!!! Got down with butt high up in the air and was pouncing around her.
This is behaviour we have NEVER seen before. Everytime he has met someone new, he is excited, never all weirded out.
Was it because he was in such a familiar area and things were different, was it because this woman was elderly with a walker?
By the way, he is almost 8 months old. Does this have something to do with it?
Any light that anyone could shed would be much appreciated!

I would guess that it has a lot to do with his age and seeing something new.

What a silly Rommel

Sorry, that kind of made me laugh a bit.. :) I am sure it was the walker, something new that he did not recognize and it got him all excited.
I wondered how Cooper would do around walkers, wheelchairs, etc, since I plan to do therapy with him, so far he pretty much ignores everything. The man he saw in the wheelchair was going all over the room and he looked at him like it was perfectly normal for a human to have wheels. I am sure the more Rommel is exposed to those types of things it will seem normal to him as well. :)

They can be embarassing can't they? You definitely have to have sense of humour to have a boxer don't you! I'm always saying I'm going to have a tee shirt printed with "sorry, he's a boxer".

Great Idea!!! And you would make a fortune! And I agree, it was the walker and then just boxer silliness :)
