What is the Continental Kennel Club and why would you register with them vs AKC?
Looking for a puppy and one of the ads I saw said CKC certified.

There are two CKC registries for dogs.
Continental Kennel Club, and Canadian Kennel Club.

Word on the street is, the Continental Kennel Club is used by back yard (ie: irresponsible) breeders - you can register your shoe as a pure bred unicorn if you like as long as you send them a check.

Where as the Canadian Kennel Club is quite legit.

But I've never actually done any registrations myself, so I've never verified the street talk.

First thing to do, is find out WHICH CKC this dog is registered with.

You don't want a registration by the Continental Kennel Club. It means nothing. It is an association used by puppy mills and back yard breeders, so that they can say their puppies are registered.
