well radition is out of the question for buster,the price is a little to high anywhere from 2500 to 6000. his vet recommed
chemo or removing his leg. i just don't know what to do.i would like to know the side affects. the vet told me that he may have accidents in the house cause they drink & eat more. not only that buster will have to remain on this the rest on his life. has anyone ever used prednisoline. it a steriod.

Hi Betsy, we have used both Chemo and Prednisone (for Lymphosarcoma). There were no side effects with the Chemo but some dogs do react. Prednisone caused a largely increased appetite and thirst but was very effective. These sites have some wonderful information about all options available and may help you:

BUSTER GOES IN FOR BLOOD WORK MONDAY TO SEE WHAT STAGE THE TUMOR WAS AFTER THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF DECISIONS TO MAKE.THE SURE THING WOULD TO AMPUTATE HIS PAW BUT MY HUSBAND WON'T EVEN CONSIDER THIS HE WANT TO TRY CHEMO FIRST.I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED.
